At a time when the civilizations of East and West and the characteristics of ancient and modern cultures meet, a salon on the theme of “Design without Boundaries, Integration of East and West”, organized by Z Media and CIFF Shanghai, wrote a vivid footnote for the discussion of international oriental design.
In the opinion of Femo Wong, the founder & design director of Femo Design, a post-90s emerging designer who has a collection of more than a thousand original designs from home and abroad, design is a very international language, and there is no need to forcefully attach symbols to it. The influence of oriental prospect, culture and aesthetic views on Chinese people is subtle, so the treatment of design can also be integrated, rather than being confined to certain geographical and stylistic categories.
As Zhao Wangke, the curator of China International Furniture Fair(Shanghai) and China International Building Decoration Fair (Shanghai) said, “Chinese people must be able to tell our own stories. Although for various reasons, the exhibition has been postponed or held online in the past two years, the two exhibition has never given up its insistence on design and originality. D2M Lab (Designers to Manufacturers Lab) is a global design trading platform initiated by Femo Wong, the founder and design director of Femo Design Studio.
This year, CIFF (Guangzhou) continues to launch the D2M Lab section in the hope that in the new production and market environment, from the design to the manufacture, they can understand and collaborate with each other more clearly without the “telescope”. The designs exhibited by Cometabolism Studio in the offline exhibition of the D2M Lab in 2021, were selected by Wang Yu, who is the founder of Galley ALL. Many of the studio’s new designs can now be seen at Galley ALL’s exhibition. This has given the initiator, Femo Wong, a deep sense of the significance of this platform, which enables resources to be effectively matched and value to be shared.
Design Bazaar, Original Design Exhibition and Design Forum are the three main parts of D2M Lab. There are 50 design bazaars, divided into online and offline modes, with the addition of several architects. The exhibition area was designed by JSD Chongqing.

The 3rd “Design Spring” Contemporary Chinese Furniture Design Fair in 2022 is held under epidemic prevention and control once again. We are very looking forward to this top event of Chinese original design.

For the Greater Bay Area Fashion Home Design Week, we launched the “50+50 for Sitting·Chair Exhibition” at the exhibition, what is “50+50”?
In fact, we selected 50 outstanding classic chairs from abroad and 50 representative chairs from China, so that the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures can produce more excitement, and also show the power of Chinese product designers at the moment.
